Official: ImageGlass 10 Release Plans, Pricing, Features, and Privacy

This is the official announcement following the Poll: ImageGlass 10 Release Plans.

Plans and Pricing

PlanPriceCoversUpdates
ClassicFreeUnlimited usersEvery version
Pro Individual$14.90 one-time1 user or deviceAll ImageGlass 10.x releases
Pro Team$69 one-timeUp to 3 users or devices, commercial use includedAll ImageGlass 10.x releases
Pro BusinessFrom $99 per seat a year, or $9.99 a month, with volume pricingSeat based, with priority supportAny newer version while the subscription is active

Pro Business costs less per seat as a team grows. The volume pricing is graduated, so each rate applies to the seats inside its own band rather than to the whole team:

SeatsPer seat a yearPer seat a month
1–49$99$9.99
50–99$69$6.99
100–499$39$3.99
500+$19$1.99

Two extras worth knowing:

  • Microsoft Store: Pro Individual is sold in the Store as well, which sets its own price for your market. Pro unlocks the moment it installs, with no license file to import, the app updates itself, and Pro stays unlocked on every future version on Windows, major releases included.
  • Pro Commercial Source License: organizations that need permissive MIT source rights for an agreed ImageGlass 10.x version can request a quote from me.

Already donated? Pro Individual is on me.

If you donated $10 or more on or after March 15, 2026, the day ImageGlass 10 Beta 1 shipped, reach out to me with your donation reference and a Pro Individual license will be issued to you free of charge.

Trust-Based Licensing

Pro licensing runs on trust rather than enforcement. There is only one official build to download: importing a small license file switches it from Classic to Pro, and the app verifies that file on your own machine.

  • No account, no sign-in, and no activation server. Pro works with no network connection at all.
  • No device lock. Move the license file between your own computers, within your plan's seat count.
  • No DRM and no phoning home. Everything needed to verify Pro sits inside the file.

Please keep your license file private and stay within your seat count. That trust is what makes the model work, and it is why there is no activation to fight with.

Feature Comparison

Everything in Classic is in Pro too: the 90+ formats, color management, basic HDR viewing, the built-in tools, themes, hotkeys, plugins, and command-line control.

Privacy Policy

Paid features brought no new data collection. The privacy policy in force today still applies, and an expanded version that spells all of this out publishes together with ImageGlass 10:

  • Your images, file names, and folder paths never leave your computer. There is no account, no advertising identifier, and no profile of you.
  • The only outbound request is the weekly update check, and its entire message is the User-Agent line that Settings > General prints back to you. No identifier is included, so two checks from one computer cannot be linked.
  • Pro adds nothing to that request. The license file is verified locally, and the check differs only by the word pro in place of classic. Your license ID, plan, seat count, and expiry date are never sent.
  • On the Store build, Pro unlocks from a local package check that works with no network connection at all.
  • Turning off "Check for update automatically" stops the anonymous statistics completely. To keep update notifications while sending nothing countable, set the DO_NOT_TRACK environment variable to 1.

Buying Pro is the one place personal data appears: Stripe processes the payment, and an order record holds your email address, plan, and payment references so that a receipt, a license, and support can be provided.

ImageGlass 9 Roadmap

The plan from the roadmap update stands, with no surprises:

  1. Maintenance mode now: bug fixes and stability updates only, no new features.
  2. Six more months of critical hotfixes once ImageGlass 10 reaches general availability, so there is time to evaluate and migrate without pressure.
  3. End of life after that window, with no further public updates for ImageGlass 9.
  4. Paid extended support remains available for organizations that need critical fixes beyond the public end of life.

Moving up costs nothing if you stay on the free edition: ImageGlass 10 Classic is a free upgrade from ImageGlass 9.

Thank You

Choosing Pro funds the work that keeps Classic free, open, and free of ads and tracking. Staying on Classic is just as welcome, and nothing about that changes. Buying a plan opens on this website when ImageGlass 10 rolls out. Until then, questions about a plan, licensing, or migrating from ImageGlass 9 are welcome.

  1. This release marks a massive milestone: a complete rewrite from the ground up. ImageGlass 10 is rebuilt on .NET and Avalonia, bringing a single, unified codebase natively to Windows, macOS, and Linux.

  2. Version 9 is in maintenance mode, so this is a focused stability update: an updated imaging engine, a higher default cache limit for large photos, and fixes for a few reported format and tool issues.

  3. With ImageGlass 10 now in its Release Candidate stage and moving toward a final public release, I want to share something openly and early.

  4. This Release Candidate milestone brings ImageGlass 10 closer to a final stable release. This version introduces a refreshed Fluent 2 design, a comprehensive built-in Settings GUI, a brand-new Quick Setup experience, and critical security hardening for the plugin ecosystem.
